Took my son n his pal fishing, who have never fished this lake before, they were both keen to fish it, unfortunately they started to fish a match lake which unbeknownst to us was holding a comp ( they were away an quiet so as not to disturb others but weather was freezing so not a great turnout).Now rather than explaining in a decent manor the baliff promptly snatched their pennies an stuck them into the speci lake in a wide open featureless swim and artic wind blowing head in into their faces, they only had light tackle, so the ideal sit would have been to direct to match lake 2, with a little bit of cover and a chance of catching.I arrived to collect the boys, after a few hours to be told by match anglers from the comp, that not only was the bailiff rather unpleasant that he could have either left them where they started or directed appropriately.Firstly I was under the impression that it was about encouraging the younger generation, not being quite so vile, after all you were quick enough to take their money so a little bit of discretionary advice to them wouldn't have gone a miss, secondly if you provide a mobile number at least answer the thing and thirdly I'll not be returning anytime soon your customer service skills stinks!!!!

Great fishery with a good mix of sizes and types of lakes, i would highly recommend a visit to any angler.
Excellent place to take the children for something a little different.
I was happy with my visit at Monk Lakes. Prices were perfect, enough spaces for everyone to fish and the whole site was well managed. recommendation: I saw that you guys have a massive field behind the shop... why dont you make it a camp site. This will be perfect for hikers to explore the area near by! Thanks.
